Trough Explosion

The troughs on our deck are exploding with color and texture. I particularly like this grouping right now.

 silene caroliniana

saponaria oxymoides

pulsatilla vulgaris, pasqueflower

blue sedum sieboldii in front of the saponaria

And speaking of troughs, thanks to everyone who was so complimentary and generous at the Frelinghuysen plant sale last weekend.  I sold a bunch of troughs at the sale and got to talk endlessly about making them, planting them, and caring for them.  My driveway is almost empty of planters now, but I did hold a few troughs back to plant for myself.  The forecast for Saturday is sunny with a 100% chance of gardening.

  1. Funny. Same forecast here. So glad you had a good sale. Your troughs are wonderful, and I am not the only one who thinks so!
